This concept through completion each team approach provides the best protection against false stars; runaway costs, and problematic redesign. Job costs are projected at the conclusion of phase of design; The Conceptual Phase, The Design Development Phase and The Working Drawing Phase. This line-by-line job cost forecasting gives the Owner and each of the other team members the opportunity to understand and analyze the impact of the design and each element thereof. The Job Cost Projection Spreadsheets help an Owner compare and understand how the job costs change with the evolvement of the project design.
The more specific the design becomes, the more precise the projected numbers become for pricing. The Design/Build process can be also combined with a Fixed Price, Fixed Fee or of course a Cost Plus Contract, depending on the wishes of the client.
